I decided to do a section on travel:
Airline Food Sites and News.
First, don't fly Delta domestically. The food (if they serve you) sucks nuts. Nothing worse than air turbulence and a flight attendant tossing you a bag of impossible to open, stale peanuts.
Here are the articles:
>BBC News on BA food and troubles: I like this quote:
Each airline's menu involves months of research and development, testing and tasting, often with expert consultants. With research suggesting pressurised cabins dull our taste buds by up to 30%, food and wine is selected not only for its flavour but its ability to fly.
Thats pretty funny.
Airline Meals.Net: One of my favorite sites. Of particular intereest to me is the following set of meals.
DeltaConnection. I ate this fabulous meal in Delta's First Class cabin this weekend. Delta sometimes really spoils its passengers. Of note is the fact that this was a 4 1/2 hour Cinn, OH to Salt Lake City, UT flight (thats not a puddle jumper).

AirReview: Lots of BA reviews and other European Airlines as well.
ABC news did a piece on airline food and suggests that many European carriers are trying to upgrade food service. They cite Lufthansa's Connoisseurs on Board service and the following menu:
Spichal's first-class menu includes appetizers of grilled scallops with jicama, gala apples and shallot vinaigrette, and roasted duck with caramelized endive, candied grapefruit, star anise and arugula, or fire-roasted vegetables with goat cheese and olives. Main courses include grilled beef tenderloin with mascarpone polenta and sautéed baby asparagus or seared striped sea bass with almonds, cauliflower florets and Madras curry lobster emulsion.
"Emulsion?" . That sounds good. Air France and Singapore Air are aslo cited in that article. You can find it
here.
I like the following attitude:
Air France's Martin said his goal is to turn every meal, no matter whether it's served in the front of the plane or the back, into "a moment of pleasure for the passenger."
This is me:
I found it interesting that the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine Fall issued a report in 2003 that found that Delta's Song had "superb service" and healthy food. I wonder if that is still true. That report can be found at their website.
